Experience the Seiser Alm

The Seiser Alm (Alpe di Siusi) is the largest high mountain pasture in Europe, and delights with its breath-taking views of the South Tyrol Dolomites, since 2009 a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The plateau with its 365 huts, Alpine pastures and woods is easily accessible from Alpe di Susi. Use the shuttle bus (bus stop about 40 m to the left of the entrance) to the Seiser Alm cable car. The bus takes you free of charge, like many other public transport services, thanks to the South Tyrol Mobilcard, which we provide free of charge. The wide open spaces are a paradise for hikers, families with children, connoisseurs and active holidaymakers all the year round and offer a magnificent view of the Dolomite peaks of Langkofel, Plattkofel, Schlern and Rosengarten. Numerous legends surround the imposing landscape, for example that of King Laurin. Throughout the year, the holiday region Seiser Alm offers numerous and varied sports and cultural events.

Active all the year round

The Seiser Alm and the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park offer great hiking trails and leisure activities from the chair lift ride to the Marinzen Alm to the summit tour on the Schlern to the hike to the Tschafon mountain refuge. On the official Seiser Alm website you will find, besides numerous walking, hiking and mountain tours, also via ferrata, varied bike tours, the Seiser Alm Outdoor-App and the MTB map for free download. You can bring your own bike and keep it at Alpe di Susi free of charge, but you can also explore the area on a rental e-bike.

The Seiser Alm with 240 kilometres of trails in the Seiser Alm Running Park also offers the most beautiful running routes in the Dolomites.

There’s the promise of cooling down in refreshingly cool water between June and September in the Völser Weiher (lake) and the Telfen swimming pool.

Should you wish to improve your golf technique, you can do so at the nearby St. Vigil Seis Golf Course in the middle of the Dolomites.

Skiing adventures for the whole family

The designated family ski area Seiser Alm/Gröden is open from November to April and comprises 175 km of slopes and 80 state-of-the-art cable cars with child safety equipment. The Seiser Alm/Gröden ski region is the largest ski area within the Dolomiti Superski ski carousel.

Experienced skiers can explore the ski area in several stages via the Seiser Alm Ronda and the Seiser Alm-Gröden Ronda – including a view of the nearby Dolomite peaks. Those who want to can also get into the Sellaronda: the one-day tour for skiers and snowboarders is 26 kilometres long and circles the Sella massif in the heart of the Dolomites. A must for freestyle fans, on the other hand, is the award-winning Seiser Alm Snowpark: over a distance of 1.5 kilometres, about 70 ‚obstacles‘ offer a varied range of activities. With a choice of Easy-, Medium- and Pro-Line, the national snowboard freestyle teams also like to let off steam here.

Winter hiking and cross-country skiing, where the world’s elite train

If you want to dedicate yourself to winter hiking and cross-country skiing in South Tyrol in the midst of the mountain world of the Dolomites – with the Langkofel, Plattkofel and Schlern at your fingertips – then the numerous hiking trails and 80 kilometres of cross-country ski runs of the Seiser Alm between 1,800 and 2,200 metres in altitude are just right for you. The cross-country ski runs are double or quadruple tracked and excellently groomed. Whether skating or classic cross-country skiing, beginners or professionals: the Seiser Alm offers the right track for every taste. Along the cross-country trails and hiking paths numerous huts offer regional delicacies and invite you to relax in a cosy atmosphere.

Cross-country skiing, where the world’s elite train: the cross-country skiing national team from Norway has been using the optimal altitude of the Seiser Alm for their training for years now. Also the teams from Italy, Sweden and the USA love the cross-country tracks of the Seiser Alm. The cross-country skiing carousel Dolomiti Nordicski, which the cross-country trails of the Seiser Alm and Val Gardena form together, is one of the biggest cross-country skiing areas in Europe with 1.300 kilometres of trails. Here you will find an optimal infrastructure on site with a cross-country skiing school, ski rental, specialised shops for cross-country skiing equipment and the Nordic Ski Center at the mountain station of the Seiser Alm cable car with changing rooms and ski depots.
